Ten Organically Funny Sketches

By: Susan Stepp

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 2 to 3 players each skit, flexible
Time: About 5 minutes each

These short comedy sketches make good fun of soda bans, tree huggers, PETA, health food, organic gardens, "light" menus, benefit runs, recycling and more. The dialogue is from a naïve teenage perspective. Titles include: 1. The Great Soda Debate - Students are apathetic. 2. Branching Out - Fear of camping. 3. Safron Café - Crazy PC waitress. 4. The Intervention - Too many hot dogs. 5. Fire! Fire! - No smoking. 6. Gardening Guidelines - Clueless teen planters. 7 Passionate Protesting - Crazy for a cause. 8. McCartell’s Burgers and Fries - New "light" menu. 9. Running for the Cause - Cheaters start at the finish line. 10. Mayfield Recycling - Won’t take rival newspapers. Excellent for classroom, contests or variety shows.
