Amy  Mussman

Growing up in Prairie Village, Kansas, Amy Mussman fell in love with theater performance at the age of six when she participated in her first acting class at Theater for Young America in Kansas City. As time went on and her family moved to Frederick, Maryland, her passion for theater only grew stronger. An active Thespian, Amy spent much of her high school years examining both the backstage and acting arenas while participating with school, church, and community theater groups and a local children’s theater touring company.

Amy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from Kansas State University and spent her college years studying light, costume, and set design. After graduation, she began her first professional theater season at Delaware Theater Company as production assistant and worked as prop master for nine seasons. She has enjoyed a decade of summers as either the costume designer for Allenberry Playhouse and Forestburgh Playhouse, the prop master for Maine State Music Theater, or working as an instructor and director for Delaware Theater Company’s summer youth theater camp.

Working on freelance projects fills many of Amy’s extracurricular passions for writing and crafting. She has also spent her free time designing costumes and sets for high schools in the Delaware and New Jersey area. “Focusing on being a well-rounded, knowledgeable theater artist or technician,” Amy says, “will not only make you a confident team member, but will keep the art of theater forever interesting and challenging — opening all doors to creativity and imagination.”
