Tom Ready has been teaching theatre and language arts for the past twenty years at Lassen High School, Lassen Community College, Chico State and within the Arts-in-Corrections program at CCC Susanville, and High Desert State Prison. He has worked as a theatre consultant for the California Arts Project, the Northeast California Arts Project and various counties in northern California. He presents workshops, consults and is a conference speaker with educational and state organizations in the areas of team building, restructuring and systems thinking.
He enjoys producing original theatrical works, in recent years working with Snail Records in Chicago on a production of Ken Nordine’s World Jazz and Ruth Gendler’s The Book of Qualities.
In 1990 he appeared in a Malpaso production of Clint Eastwood’s Pink Cadillac with Bernadette Peters.
He recently finished a collaborative theatre project with Dr. William Torch, pediatric neurologist at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, on an original script about child abuse and children’s rights presented at Lassen High School.
Tom was awarded a national Christa McAuliffe Fellowship for the 1997-98 school year in the areas of drama, literacy and educational restructuring.pc
Currently, Tom teaches acting and English, and is in charge of organizational development at Lassen High School in Susanville, California.
