The Thing from Under the North Pole

By: Burton Bumgarner

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 10W, 10M, extras
Time: 90 minutes, 2 acts

Throw together a Hollywood film crew, a former mobster in the Witness Protection Program, an irate mob boss, an overzealous mayor, and the coldest place on Earth, and what do you get? Hilarious hi-jinks, goofy one-liners, and salmon at every meal. Set in frigid Nascaw, Alaska (not to be confused with Nassau, Bahamas), where temperatures above minus-thirty are considered "balmy," this play is filled with unexpected twists and side-splitting laughs. Simple staging for a large cast with many starring roles.
