The Patchwork Girl of OZ

By: Dan Roberts

Age Level: All Ages
Cast: 26 to 30 performers
Time: 1 hour, 2 acts

A classic L. Frank Baum story adapted into a musical narrative. The crooked musician Dr. Pipt accidentally turns his wife and friend into stone. His new creation, the Patchwork Girl, must go to the Emerald City for help! Along the way, with seven charming songs, she meets the Wise Donkey, Woozy, Shaggy Man, the Pumpkinhead family and a crazy bunch of Tottenhots. Finally Dorothy, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman intervene to win the favor of Ozma, the Princess of Oz. She asks the Wizard to make everything right again. Solo and group singing and dancing with musical themes from Bach, Rachmaninoff, etc. Opportunities for colorful staging and comedy action. Great fun for everyone.
