Student performers will love to put on old-age makeup, wigs, clothes and canes to portray cantankerous old folks at a retirement home. Grouchy old Peter keeps searching madly for his teeth. Two others try to play checkers while the women do “exercises” and play Bingo. The old ladies flirt with the old farts, are insulted, then get belligerent. They whomp the grumps with canes and newspapers. These old cronies can’t hear, can barely walk and can’t remember. They all insult each other with hilarious one-liners as Granny and Larry carry on a contentious courtship. Teen players have fun with the crotchety actions and expressions. Uproarious from start to finish. Simple staging and costumes.
